空間デザイナー。1981年滋賀県湖南市生まれ。大阪芸術大学卒業後、インフィクスの間宮吉彦氏に師事。その後、乃村工藝社など企業での活動を経て、2012年「RID」を設立。
商・住空間における、建築・インテリア・プロダクトまで、国内外で多岐にわたるデザイン・ディレクションを行う。

スタジオコンセプトである　「日常の余白™️／margins of the everyday™️」を軸としながら、暮らしや商いなど日常の延長上に位置する存在に意識を向け、実像からこぼれ落ちてくる表情や背景をもとに、トライアンドエラーを繰返すことで少しずつ前進する過程に重要性を感じている。
また、単なる装飾的な思考ではなく、あらゆる情報や状況を積み重ねていくことで、導き出されるものをデザイン手法の一つとして、クリエーションを展開している。

2023年には、住まう環境や家族、人のつながりから、自然と生まれてくる仕事として “優美な日常“ をテーマに、自身初プロデュースとなるヘアサロン「LAAN」を大阪市内にオープン。
数ある業態の中で、これほど深く1対1の継続的なコミュニケーションが生まれるのは奇有なものだと考え、商業デザインの取組みの一例として興味深い位置付けとしている。

主なプロジェクトとして、電子部品会社「ROHM東京ビジネスセンター」、製薬会社「日本新薬京都本社KOKU」、京都の宿泊型ミュージアム「BnA Alter Museum HOTEL」、北海道発のチーズタルトブランド「BAKE」、吉田カバンを展開する「KURA CHIKA TACHIKAWA」、中国仏山の「8b DOLCE Foshan」、兵庫県神戸市の「MERICAN BARBERSHOP」などがある。また、イタリア家具ブランド「CASSINA IXC」にてインスタレーション展 “空間の欠片（かけら）” を開催するなど、国内外問わず多数手がける。

Born in 1981 in Konan City, Shiga Prefecture. After graduating from Osaka University of Arts, he studied under Yoshihiko Mamiya of Infix.
Afterwards, he worked for NOMURA Co., Ltd. and other companies, and established RID in 2012.
He has been engaged in wide-ranging design and direction for commercial and residential spaces in Japan and abroad, from architecture to interior design and products.

With the studio concept of “margins of the everyday™” at the core, he focuses on the extension of everyday existence, such as daily life and business, and places importance of the process of making gradual progress through repeated trial and error based on the expressions and background that spill over from the actual image.
He also develops his creations not through mere decorative thinking, but by accumulating all kinds of information and situations, using what he derives from that as one of his design methods.

In 2023, he opened LAAN, the first hair salon produced by him, in Osaka City. It is based on the theme of graceful daily life as work that naturally emerges from the environment in which one lives and the relationships with family and other people.
Among the many types of businesses that exist, it is rare for such deep and continuous one-on-one communication to occur. LAAN is positioned as an interesting example of a commercial design approach.

His major projects include the ROHM Tokyo Business Center for an electronic components company, NIPPON SHINYAKU Kyoto Headquarters KOKU for a pharmaceutical company, BnA Alter Museum HOTEL for a lodging-type museum in Kyoto, BAKE for a cheese tart brand from Hokkaido, KURA CHIKA TACHIKAWA for Yoshida & Co., Ltd., 8b DOLCE Foshan in Foshan, China, and MERICAN BARBERSHOP in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture. He has also been involved in a number of domestic and international projects, including the installation exhibition “Pieces of Space” at the furniture brand CASSINA IXC.
